An ancient medieval hall located in the city centre of historic York, The Merchant Adventurers’ Hall provides the ideal setting for a unique and romantic wedding. The Merchant Adventurers’ Hall was one of the first private venues to be licensed for civil ceremonies in York and is now one of the most popular outside the registery office. The Hall is the perfect location for large or small wedding parties with the capacity to accommodate 20-180 guests for your ceremony. Afterwards, celebrate with a banquet or buffet in our Great Hall, and a dance or entertainment in our Undercroft. In season, our picturesque Garden makes a lovely backdrop for drinks and photography after your ceremony. Having both your ceremony and reception at the Hall makes the big day even more enjoyable for you and your guests- no one will get lost or delayed moving between the ceremony and reception!
